Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa is confident he will be able to prove majority in the assembly. Resuming its hearing of Congress petition on May 18, the Supreme Court ordered Yeddyurappa to take floor test at 4 pm on Saturday, reducing the 15-day window given by governor Vajubhai Vala. Congress had challenged the governor's invitation to the BJP leader to form government but the apex court refused to stay the oath-taking ceremony following an overnight hearing. The SC turned down Yeddyurappa's request for a secret ballot during the floor test and also asked the Karnataka police to make proper arrangements for floor test.
